Nia
200 Hour Yoga Teacher In-Training ~ The Love Way Exchange Scholar
Nia is a licensed social worker, birth and postpartum doula, and maternal mental health specialist whose work centers emotional wellness, community healing, and embodied self-awareness for Black and Brown women and families. Yoga has become a grounding part of her personal regulation practice, inspiring her to explore it as both movement and a holistic path toward sovereignty, wholeness, and nervous system care. As she begins her practicum teaching at Love Yoga Studio, Nia brings a compassionate, trauma-informed presence shaped by her background in mental health and maternal care. She hopes to integrate yoga into her community work with integrity, reciprocity, and purpose. Nia is honored to grow alongside fellow students and share practices that nurture connection, resilience, and collective well-being.

Jana
500 Hour Yoga Teacher In-Training ~ The Love Way Exchange Scholar
Jana is completing the 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program and is a Love Way Exchange Scholar. She began her yoga journey in 2021 after a period of emotional overwhelm, and has stayed close to her mat since. Jana is grateful to share her practice through teaching & honored to be part of the Love Yoga Community. In her free time, she likes to read, drink matcha, and explore guided journaling. She is a public health professional working in the nonprofit sector.

Hannah Lili
Registered Yoga Teacher 200 HR; Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Teacher Trainee
Hannah has been practicing yoga for over 15 years, 7 of which have been in the D.C. area. She is passionate about incorporating embodiment and movement into everyday life, and has a guiding philosophy that yoga is available for anyone who wants it. She completed her yoga teacher training (RYT-200) in February of 2024 from Past Tense Studio in Mt. Pleasant, D.C. which focused on practical anatomy and a wide breadth of yoga styles. Hannah is inspired by Vinyasa, Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Bhakti yoga for creative Beginner and Prenatal yoga sequences . Hannah hopes students feel empowered to utilize movement practices for their own well being and build bodily intuition. She aims to use yoga to foster a welcoming space for all races, genders, ages, and sizes. When not practicing yoga, Hannah likes to cook, watch old movies, bad puns, and maybe even train for triathlons.

Certified 200 Hour Yoga Teacher; Yoga Teacher Coaching Student at Love
Ashleigh is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor and senior at Howard University who is passionate about cultivating presence in mind, body, and breath. Rooted in vinyasa, her teaching emphasizes fluid, breath-led movement that builds resilience, confidence, and self-trust. As a new teacher in the Yoga Teacher Coaching program at Love Yoga Studio, Ashleigh is excited to refine her voice and support students in feeling empowered exactly as they show up. Her Empowerment Flow classes invite practitioners to explore their edge with intention, leaving the mat strong, grounded, and inspired.

The Love Way Exchange Teaching Scholar - 500 HR
Keesha is completing the 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Love Yoga Studio and is a current Teaching Scholar within the studio’s The Love Way Exchange program. Keesha is a massage therapist and small business owner. Yoga has taught Keesha patience and her favorite part of the practice is to learn new aspects of yoga. Keesha’s goal is to help others achieve a healthier mental, physical and spiritual lifestyle.

TeeTee began her journey at Love Yoga Studio as a studio assistant and has been teaching there on and off for the past few years while pursuing her nursing studies and running her small business. Drawn to yoga as a path of patience and self-discovery, she especially loves guiding gentle, grounding yin classes that invite students inward. Her favorite moments come in Savasana and meditation, where stillness reveals deeper healing and insight. TeeTee is committed to continuing her learning and sharing a calm, nurturing space for others to grow on and off the mat.

Crisely began her yoga journey as a 12 year old and remembers being blown away by the pranayama practice. Crisely completed her yoga teacher training in 2022 while pregnant with her second child. She is passionate about curating inclusive, intuitive, and joyful classes where each person leaves feeling stronger and more connected to their inner peace.

Registered Yoga Teacher 200 HR
Jan began practicing yoga 10 years ago. She has dreamed of becoming a yoga teacher, and thanks Love Yoga Yoga Teacher Training for making this dream come true. She loves teaching classes that help yogis at all levels become more flexible and learn how to achieve balance between action and resistant. She is also a professor at the University of Maryland where she studies how children learn language. Jan believes that if adults could have the flexibility in mind, body, and spirit that children have, then the world would be a better place.

LaKisha
Certified 200 Hour Yoga Teacher; Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Teacher Trainee
LaKisha is a licensed therapist, devoted boy mom, and compassionate guide, this teacher first came to Love Yoga Studio as a retreat facilitator for an international Costa Rica experience and has been joyfully teaching with the community for the past six months. She is currently completing the Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Teacher Certification, weaving her mental health background into classes that center presence, safety, and self-compassion. Inspired by her own healing journey, she believes yoga off the mat is just as powerful as the poses themselves, helping students slow down, ground, and reconnect with themselves. She dreams of one day opening a studio for children and adolescents, offering young people the same joy, stability, and insight yoga has brought to her life. Guided by the spirit of karma yoga, she is grateful to grow alongside the Love Yoga community while supporting students in discovering that yoga truly is for everyone.

Erin Frances
Registered Yoga Teacher 200 HR; Certified Yin Yoga Teacher; Meditation Guide Trainee; Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Teacher Trainee
Erin Frances is completing the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Love Yoga Studio and is a current Teaching Scholar within the studio’s The Love Way Exchange program. She has a Ph.D in chemistry and is a peace worker in District of Columbia. Erin Frances has used yoga in her life to care for herself as well as to practice aligning her body, mind and spirit. She loves camping, hiking, cooking plant-based meals, share a cup of coffee with a friend and doing yoga. Her favorite part of her yoga practice is learning something new every time she gets on the mat.

Desiree
Certified 200 Hour Yoga Teacher; Breathwork Guide Trainee
Desiree is a dedicated student of yoga philosophy who completed her Yoga Teacher Training in India in 2025 and has continued her studies in energy work, sound healing, and breathwork. As a longtime Yoga Immersion participant at Love Yoga Studio, she has explored Yoga Nidra, the Yamas and Niyamas, chakras, meditation, and more—discovering a deep love for the study, reflection, and discussion of yoga’s wisdom teachings. Desiree now shares that passion as a philosophy teacher in Love Yoga Studio’s Yoga School, offering thoughtful inquiry rooted in growth, spirituality, and community. Guided by the spirit of karma yoga, she approaches teaching as a sacred exchange, where both student and teacher learn, evolve, and inspire one another. Desiree hopes her classes support students in integrating yoga philosophy into daily life with intention, curiosity, and heart.

Madianna is a devoted mother of two and a work-from-home parent who discovered yoga while seeking calm and balance amid a busy life. Over the past two years, her practice has deepened into a daily ritual that she now joyfully shares with her daughters, inspiring her passion for bringing yoga and mindfulness to children—especially within Black communities where access to wellness spaces is often limited. As she begins her practicum teaching at Love Yoga Studio, Madianna offers a warm, nurturing presence grounded in patience, playfulness, and care. She believes yoga helps remember our inner strength, rest without guilt, and move through life with peace, and she is excited to guide others in discovering that same sense of connection and calm.

200 Hour Yoga Teacher In-Training ~ The Love Way Exchange Scholar
Aleta is a healer-in-the-making who embraces self-care and self-love as sacred daily rituals. Her yoga journey began during the stillness of the pandemic, when meditation and movement helped her regulate her nervous system and choose healing over operating from trauma. For Aleta, yoga is the physical manifestation of balance—an embodied reminder to move beyond extremes and flow with life’s natural ebb and flow. As she begins her practicum teaching at Love Yoga Studio, she is proud to train in a Black-owned space that reflects her values of community and empowerment. Aleta hopes to offer others the gift of patience, rest, and release—creating space for intentional breath, grounded presence, and the gentle letting go of what no longer serves.

Certified 500 Hour Yoga Teacher
Shy is completing the 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Love Yoga Studio and is a current Teaching Scholar within the studio’s The Love Way Exchange program. Shy is a licensed social worker that prioritizes mental health, incorporating ways to assist individuals with being the best versions of themselves. Yoga has taught Shy how to self-regulate and given her the ability to be one with herself. It has also helped to reduce her level of stress anxiety.

Nae is a young licensed clinical therapist and social worker that is passionate about integrating yoga with mental health care to support healing of the body, mind, and spirit. As an African American woman deeply connected to ancestral wisdom, she brings a community-centered, trauma-informed approach—honoring both the resilience and the history carried in our bodies. Beginning her practicum teaching at Love Yoga Studio, she is excited to explore the chakras within her yoga offerings. In the future, Nae hopes to share playful, music-inspired practices that help children, teens, and Black communities reconnect with their bodies and inner wisdom. With aspirations to host wellness retreats, she sees yoga as a powerful complement to therapy and a pathway to collective healing and wholeness.

Jazmine is a multi-dimensional artist, educator, and community healer devoted to self-discovery and creative transformation. As the founder of Treasure Yourself In Creation Everyday LLC (T.Y.I.C.E), she centers her work on helping others understand themselves, cultivate purpose, and embrace healing through art and movement. An ADS Collective Member, Jazmine also serves the Washington, DC community as an Acupuncture Detox Specialist, continuing a legacy of community-based care and empowerment. As she begins her practicum teaching at Love Yoga Studio, she steps into the seat of the teacher with courage and intention, seeing yoga as a path to self-mastery, leadership, and deeper love of her art. Jazmine is passionate about guiding youth and communities to recognize their inner power, honor both their light and shadow, and live with purpose and confidence.

Zina is completing the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Love Yoga Studio and is a current Teaching Scholar within the studio’s The Love Way Exchange program. Zina is a massage therapist and small business owner. She believes that her soul’s purpose is to heal others through teaching them how to heal themselves. Zina’s favorite part of her yoga practice is the feelings of serenity an peace that come afterwards.

Morgan is completing the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Love Yoga Studio and is a current Teaching Scholar within the studio’s The Love Way Exchange program. Morgan is a birth worker, graduate student and business owner. Morgan's favorite part of her yoga practice is that she goes with how she is feeling during that time. Yoga has taught Morgan that she can rely on herself and God to heal, feel better and to continue to move forward despite the difficulties in life. As a communal person, she believes coming together oppose to separating is essential for growth and healing. Her current desire is to continue learning more about yoga for her own personal journey and to share that with others.
