    Registered Yoga Teacher 200 HR

    Jan began practicing yoga 10 years ago. She has dreamed of becoming a yoga teacher, and thanks Love Yoga Yoga Teacher Training for making this dream come true. She loves teaching classes that help yogis at all levels become more flexible and learn how to achieve balance between action and resistant. She is also a professor at the University of Maryland where she studies how children learn language. Jan believes that if adults could have the flexibility in mind, body, and spirit that children have, then the world would be a better place.

  • Scheera

    Registered Yoga Teacher 200 HR

    Born and raised in the District of Columbia, Scheera started her journey with meditation and yoga several years ago. She fully committed herself to her practice in 2017. It was after her first daughter when she discovered the need to refine herself. In 2018, she completed her 200 Hour Yoga teacher training at Love Yoga Studio. Over the next couple of years, Scheera continued her education and is now a certified Meditation Teacher, Reiki Practitioner, Birth Doula and soon Certified Holistic Health Coach. She also incorporates sound healing into her teaching and everyday practices. Scheera revolves around the importance of self-care, self-love, and how it’s a major key to peace and happiness with yourself. She enjoys a good fast pace class but also loves a good slow flow that’s engaging with the breath. Scheera’s style of teaching is either a High-Low Hatha/Vinyasa Flow, a Restorative Flow or Yin. The energy she brings to each class is very kind, supportive and personable.

    Registered YTT 200 HR

    Courtney learned about yoga after her mother brought a book about yoga poses as a preteen. Courtney is a music educator, and after sharing her yoga journey and practice with her school students, they inspired her to complete her 95-hour Children’s Yoga certification. In the fall of 2022, Courtney completed her 200-hour certification. Courtney is also completing her Yin Yoga Teacher Certification.

    As a teacher, I love working with beginners who are just finding their way. I try to keep the mood light because, after all, a pose is just a pose. I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Be Here Now Yoga. One class became two, which then became three. And the rest, as they say, is history.

    Melody is a yoga teacher, focusing her teachings primarily on meditative, gentle and restorative practices, in order to manage stress and anxiety in the body and mind. She’s also a public health professional currently living in DC.

  • Prachi

    Registered Yoga Teacher 200 HR

    Prachi is a certified yoga instructor (YTT 200) in the Pranakriya tradition, which incorporates breath work or pranayama as an integral part of the yoga practice. She first learned about yoga and meditation in elementary school when growing up in India but started embracing it as part of her lifestyle decades later, after moving to the US and realizing its benefits with consistent practice. Prachi has been deeply influenced by the teachings of the Art of Living Foundation and regularly practices Sudarshan Kriya (or SKY), a unique, powerful yet simple rhythmic breathing technique that incorporates specific natural rhythms of the breath, harmonizing the body, mind, and emotions. The technique eliminates stress, fatigue, and negative emotions such as anger, frustration, and depression, leaving the mind calm, and focused and the body energized, and completely relaxed. Prachi teaches Kriya yoga which is a slow gentle flow incorporating mindfulness, and pranayama which allows the body, mind, and spirit to go into a meditative state throughout the practice. She brings energy and enthusiasm to her yoga practice and is eager to share the benefits of this practice with the community.

    Prachi is passionate about health, wellness, and disease prevention and works as a Health Scientist in public health at a federal government agency. When she is not at a yoga studio or working in public health, Prachi enjoys hiking, traveling, vegetarian cooking, volunteering, and learning about real estate.

  • Jahmal

    Registered Yoga Teacher 200 HR

    Jahmal began his yoga journey ten years ago while looking for a way to increase his flexibility and tend to sports injuries. Thanks to the loving guidance of various yoga teachers along his path and curiosity about this ancient wisdom, he has discovered how much deeper the process of yogic transformation on a spiritual level. He has taught students from children to seniors since obtaining his 200 HR RYT certification in 2019 and is always willing to share his knowledge.

    Registered Yoga Teacher 200 HR

    Gigi is a holistic wellness educator, sensory experience curator, 200-hour certified vinyasa yoga teacher, social justice advocate and an eternal student of life. She uses the principles of yoga, attitudes of mindfulness and wisdom of nature as catalysts for ease, empowerment and liberation. With a strong belief that holding space for collective reflection, imagination and transformation is the key to meaningful change, Gigi regards her spiritual work as activism. Her teaching style honors the beauty and nuance of the human experience while encouraging individual power and curiosity along the way.

  • Nikki

    Registered Yoga Teacher 200 HR

    Nikki started her wellness journey when she fell in love with yoga while taking a class on a school trip to India in 2011 when she attended Temple University. During this class, she felt a sense of peace in her mind, body, and spirit that she had never experienced before. It was through yoga that she later found and began practicing meditation. Her dedication to both grew so much that she eventually received teaching certifications from Spiritual Essence and Sankofa Yoga & Wellness Centers. As a self-proclaimed "Naptivist," Nikki believes in the importance of rest and restoration. When she is not practicing yoga and meditating, Nikki loves relaxing, creating art, traveling, and exploring different cultures and cuisines.
